WHAT IS THE CCW?
The Council of Catholic Women (CCW) is a nationwide organization comprised of women from parishes throughout the United States. The St. Joe’s CCW is affiliated with the Sauk Deanery, the Madison Diocese CCW and the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW). In other parishes, CCW is also known as the Altar and Guild Society, Altar Sodality or Women’s Circles.
MISSION STATEMENT: The NCCW acts through its membership to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world. Commissions include:
• Church Commission
• Community Concerns
• Family Concerns
• International Concerns (Water for Life, Mission Sewing)
• Organization Concerns
• Legislative Concerns (Right to Life)
